The World in a Garden
Admittedly, The World in a Garden might just be our best friend! We love food and we like it as fresh, local and organic as possible. We love food grown with heart and community and we love watching children bear the fruits of their labor. Throughout the year you can find this and much more happening at The World in a Garden, an urban agriculture project that educates community and youth on the nutritional, cultural and social benefits of a just and local food system.
FOR THE LOVE OF FOOD
Today we are blessed with the delectable creations from The Love of Food. You can find these goodies made by Julie Beyer in our gift baskets! Julie accidentally discovered her Love of Delicious Food, while studying abroad in Lyon, France. She was captivated by French culinary culture and developed an appreciation for very very delicious food. Her Love of Delicious inspired her to begin experimenting in her kitchen with fresh ingredients from the marche and set out to sample as many wines, cheeses, and sugar-laden French pastries as possible.
URBAN DIGS FARMS
Like we said, we love local, sustainable food and our friends Julia and Ludo, make it happen at Urban Digs Farms. Check out the great work they are doing in Vancouver to provide our community with the freshest food possible. From lettuce to chickens and sweet preserves they have it growin’ on!

“Here (in Pakistan and Afghanistan), we drink three cups of tea to do business; the first you are a stranger, the second you become a friend, and the third, you join our family, and for our family we are prepared to do anything – even die.”
- Haji Ali, Korphe Village hief, Kaakoram Mountains, Pakistan. Quoted from the book “Three Cups of Tea”
